Bones Episode Guide - Bones Bones/Booth Romantic Developments

  • Booth gets blown up protecting Brennan at her home
  • David: "Did I miss something?" to Booth & Bones at the interrogation room, implying that they are going out together. Bones & Booth "No, No" seems it is obvious to everyone but them.
  • Booth leaves hospital to save Brennan once he realizes she is in danger from the FBI agent he put with her to protect her. Booth feels very guilty about this and we are starting to see his obsession with protecting Bones.
  • Angela says to Bones: "I mean you actually have a FBI knight in standard issue body armor, so cut him some slack" Take a hint Temperance he likes you a little more than just friends. As Angela said in the Pilot "I would buy a ticket on that ride if I were you"
  • Brennan cancels the date with "David" to spend more time with Booth in the hospital. Interestingly enough though he doesn't let her lounge on the bed next to him, could it be Seeley for all of his sexual confidence is somewhat afraid of getting his heart broken?
  • Bones: "I see men, I go out with them, and occasionally I sleep with them" Booth is a little jealous of Bones' on line date, and she is just annoyed with the intrusion. I don't think she thinks it possible that Booth could be romantically interested in her.

In this episode we see Booth pursuing Bones with his obsession of keeping her safe. Temperance is somewhat annoyed by this but also finds it attractive when it come from Booth. He is replacing her big brother whom she lost. She still does not comprehend that Booth is attracted to her, and even if she did she probably would refuse to see him again to protect her heart.
Seeley on the other hand is also in denial about his attraction to Temperance. She is not like any other woman he has ever met. She is smart, can kick ass, and inadvertantly show great vunerability. Niether has really realized the mutual attraction yet, although all Seeley would need would be a little nod by Temperance to get the idea. Temperance on the other hand is not about to open her heart to anyone, let alone someone as potentially hurtful as Seeley. Better to just have a surrogate friendship.
