Episode Summary
Brennan is at a night club when she gets caught up in a fight. Amidst the scuffle, a hole is kicked in the wall, which reveals a decaying body and a stash of meth.

Bones Opening Crime Scene Description
Bones gets in a fight at a night club with another woman after stating on the dance floor that the Hip-Hop music they were listening to was very "Tribal". Bones knocks another man through a wall which uncovers a body that was mummified due to the dry air from the air conditioning and crystal meth. Bones get stoned by in-hailing some of the meth that is disturbed when the man she kicked broke down the wall.

  • Brennan likes Hip Hop, Booth hates it.
  • Tessa dumps Booth, she got scared of step 6.
  • The idea for this episode came from the real-life story of disc jockey Eduardo Sanchez. Sanchez was reported missing fourteen months before his mummified body was found inside a wall of a popular night club in Winnipeg, Canada. The story, "DJ's Mummified Body Found Behind Wall in Club," was published by the National Post in December 2003.
  • Brennan: Angela said rap artists sometimes kill each other over the music: Jam Master Jay, Tupac, Biggie.
    Brennan is mentioning the names of several American artists who were murdered in gang-related shootings. Jam Master Jay was a hip hop singer shot on October 30, 2002 in New York. Tupac was a rapper shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas who died a few days later on September 13, 1996. Biggie (The Notorious B.I.G.) was a rapper and hip hop singer killed in a drive-by shooting on March 9, 1997 in Los Angeles. Despite what Angela said, there is no proof that any of these men died as a result of music-related issues.

  • Bones & Angela harass Tessa and Mock Booth after she leaves because they are both stoned
  • Bones & Booth bickering in the car about positing motives vs markers on bones, yoga vs push-ups and being snippy. Booth gets really annoyed at the end of the argument when he finds out Bones has reset his radio stations to hip-hop (very well acted).
  • Bones: I'm starting to see how this whole motive thing works. Booth: Thank you Bones. Bones: It's still murky psychological guesswork though

  • At the end of the episode Bones is trying to console Booth since he will be going on vacation without Tessa and says she never minds being alone on vacation. Booth replies that when two people are on vacation they joke about not going back, but when you are alone the world is full of possibilities. Bones replies see ya next week, she is not buying Booth's veiled threat
  • Angela and Bones connive to break up Booth and Tessa. What are friends for anyway.
