Episode Summary
When a real human skeleton is found being used as a stage prop for a black metal band in Norway, authorities determine the victim was an American citizen. The Jeffersonian team tracks the skeletal remains to an underground U.S. death metal band and identifies the victim as a bassist named Mayhem from a band called Spew. As Booth and Brennan venture into the unfamiliar world of death metal music to search for the killer and a motive, they learn about their own team’s surprising musical preferences and gain new insight into Sweets’ past. Meanwhile, when Sweets asks Dr. Gordon Wyatt (guest star Stephen Fry) for input on the book he’s writing about Booth and Brennan, Dr. Wyatt lends Sweets an interesting perspective on the pair’s unique relationship

Bones Episode Guide - Bones Bones Episode Trivia

  • Dr. Sweets had a traumatic childhood and has a multitude of scars on his back to prove it.
  • Brennan was locked in a trunk for two days when she was a foster child for breaking a dish.
  • If it wasn't for Booth's Grandfather, he might have killed himself when he was a child.
  • This episode is an allusion to the Norwegian black metal band Mayhem. One of the things Mayhem is most famous for is the murder of their guitar player Euronymous by their bass guitar player Varg Vikernes.

Bones Episode Guide - Bones Best Bones/Booth Moments

  • Booth was quite impressed when Brennan got a little mean in the interrogation room.
  • Bones shares childhood trauma and so does Booth, but all he is concerned about is her emotional well-being.
  • When Bones puts a tissue in Booth's jacket pocket.

Bones Episode Guide - Bones Unanswered Questions

  • How did Sweets get his scars on his back?
  • Is it Bones or Booth that recognizes and struggles with their sexual attraction every day? (there is an implied answer but I'm sure either could be argued)
  • It could be Booth because he always shows sad, concerned or loving expressions towards Bones every time he does something cute (like the tissue deal), and he is always concerned about her and the not so casual stick close manuvers. However, at the end, if you look on the paper it says "Bones- the Heart of the Matter", so maybe Bones sees it instead. Also, whenever Booth mentions that it would be bad to have a realationship with someone you work with (Ex. after Cam is poisoned by Epps) Bones says either 'I understand' or shows a look of sadness.

Bones Episode Guide - Bones Bones/Booth Romantic Developments

  • One of the pair recognizes and struggles with their sexual attraction every day. (Recognized by Dr. Gordon Wyatt and later by Sweets)

America is a young nation made up of immigrants. How can one look from an anthropologist determine American nationality? It takes centuries apon centuries for evolution in the bone structure to occur, a distinction can be made between some races but between a Nowegian white man and Ameriacn white man, I'm not buying it.

what you think about it...

Is it Bones or Booth that recognizes and struggles with their sexual attraction every day?

I think that is Booth, because his body language prove it...
he´s always staring at her, or he looks her mouth... or touches her face...

Besides, in this episode, in the ending scene he is the one that struggles with his feelings.

(I think that he likes her since the first season xD)
