| | | Camille's Backstory | Camille Saroyan, better known as Cam, is the Head of the Forensic Division in the Jeffersonian. Born in The Bronx, New York Cam tends to emphasize the toughness she learned while living there. This aspect has both positive and negative consequences, the positive being that she does not let anyone walk over her or her team the negative being that people tend to find her abrasive and dislike her before they get to know her well. For a while, she lived with a reputable surgeon named Andrew Weston, who had a young daughter by his deceased wife. His daughter, Michelle, and Cam grew extremely close while Dr. Weston and she were living together. But Cam found out that Andrew saw other women and left both him and Michelle behind. In the episode The Doctor in the Den, Andrew was murdered by one of his girlfriends, leaving 16 year old Michelle behind. After the case is solved, Cam heads over to the Weston household, and asks Michelle if she would like to come and live with her. Michelle accepts and Cam becomes a mom, even though in season two, in a conversation with Brennan, as well as another with Angela in season three, she stated quite plainly she did not want children. Both she and her family seem to be on relatively friendly terms with various members of the Booth household, possibly stemming from the fact that Cam dated Seeley Booth at one point in time. However, she also knows plenty about Jared Booth stating that she knew him for fifteen years. Her relationship within her own family appears not to be as good as hers with the Booth family as she often fights (but makes up) with her younger sister, Felicia. At one point she states that her mother died when she was twenty-one but her father appears to be still alive and kicking having celebrated his sixtieth birthday in the episode "The Intern in the Incinerator". Cam is one of the few on the team who believes in ghosts stating that after her mother's funeral her mother showed her a hidden necklace which Cam still wears. Cam is extremely loyal to her team, standing up for them when someone is wrongly putting them down.
